About the Isarco river

The Isarco (Eisack) is South Tyrol's second longest river. It rises at the Brenner Pass and runs down the Valle Isarco to Bolzano, where it joins the Adige. Our tour starts near Sterzing (Vipiteno) and ends just before Fortezza, the river continues towards Ponte Gardena: continuous rapids, drops and stunning scenery.

With us you tackle the Isarco Base, a technical class III route suitable if you've rafted at least once, or the Isarco Full, a longer tour for groups chasing real adrenaline with the final part of the route class IV.

Season runs from June to September. It's the perfect river if you've already run the Aurino or Rienza and want to level up. Not a tour for small children: minimum age is 10-12, always with a certified guide on board.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need previous rafting experience?

Not mandatory but recommended. The Isarco is more technical and physical than the other rivers: if it's your first time, start with the Aurino or Rienza.

How demanding is it?

International class III-IV: continuous rapids, tall waves, constant paddling. You need decent fitness and the will to paddle hard.

What's the minimum age?

10-12+ years depending on the river flow that day. Confirm at booking.

What if I fall out?

We run a full briefing before the tour on how to float safely and be recovered. Guides are trained exactly for this.

How long does it last?

Base about 2 hours and 30 minutes total with 90 minutes of descent. Full tour about 3 hours total.
