About the Lappago canyon

The Lappago (Lappach) canyon lies in Valle di Selva dei Molini, a side valley of Valle Aurina. One of South Tyrol's most spectacular gorges: transparent water, rock carved by millennia, waterfalls, natural slides and deep emerald-green pools.

Canyoning here is available in two variants. The Short Tour is designed for those who want to try the experience: jumps from 3 to 8 metres (always optional), slides and swims in natural pools. The Long Tour adds the upper part of the gorge with rope abseils up to 45 metres and a more adventurous and adrenaline-filled stretch.

Short Tour: starts with an uphill walk through the woods (about 20-30 minutes) to the entrance of the gorge. From there, you descend progressively combining walking, swimming, jumps, and slides. Long Tour: from the parking lot, a 1-minute walk, starting from the bridge where the adventure begins. Wetsuit, jacket, socks, 5mm neoprene shoes, harness and helmet are provided by us. Each group is accompanied by one guide.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to swim?

Knowing how to swim is recommended but not essential. If needed, we can provide a life jacket and give you assistance. Please always let the guide know so we can ensure your safety.

Are the jumps mandatory?

Never. Every jump always has an alternative (abseil or walk-down). Do only what feels right.

What's the minimum age?

Short Tour from age 10, Long Tour from age 12. First-timers should always start with the Short Tour.

I'm afraid of heights — can I join?

There's some exposure on abseils. Tell your guide: we walk you through step by step, or we'll find a better tour for you.

What if the weather is bad?

We run in any weather, including light rain. Tours are cancelled only in case of thunderstorms or heavy rain, because of flash-flood risk.

How long does it last?

Short Tour about 3 hours total. Long Tour about 4 hours.
